Gloucestershire will miss Spearman's explosive batting |
Gloucestershire's injury problems have worsened with the news that frontline batsman Craig Spearman faces up to six weeks out with a broken foot. The 34-year-old Kiwi batsman injured his foot in the warm-up ahead of last Thursday's thrashing of Ireland in the Friends Provident Trophy.
He returned to the county in plaster before scans revealed a broken bone.
It means he is a serious doubt for the pool stages of the Twenty20 Cup, which start on 22 June.
Physio Steve Griffin, said: "Craig has had an MRI scan, is currently in plaster and we will know more after seeing the consultant on Monday."
Gloucestershire are already without Jon Lewis for two months after the England seamer underwent ankle surgery a fortnight ago.
