Hemp calls on Glamorgan resolve

David Hemp
Hemp says Glamorgan can take positives out of the Twenty20 Cup

Glamorgan skipper David Hemp has urged his side to bounce back from their Twenty20 Cup disappointment.

The Welsh county beat Worcestershire in a dead-rubber at New Road on Friday and Hemp has now set sights on the county championship and Pro40 competitions.

He said: "We've got time to make sure that come that first ball of that next game we are ready and focused."

Glamorgan face Essex at Swalec Stadium starting on July 11 return to New Road for another four-day game on July 17.

The Welsh county's opening Pro40 match of the season in on July 24 in Cardiff against Surrey.

Hemp added: "We've got a break before the next four-day game and we must forget about the Twenty20 for this year.

"We've got two back-to-back four-day games and it's important we put in two good shows there.

"Similarly before we play the next Pro-40 game we sit down and think about the Twenty20 and the FP Trophy, which if you compare to the last couple of seasons in terms of the games we've lost they've been pretty close or closer this season than they have in the past.

"We have to take the positives from the two one-day competitions we haven't progressed in and look to put that into the Pro-40 coming up."

"The frustrating this is we never built any sort of momentum, having played one and then another rained off.

"We'd play another game and it would be rained off and we'd have half a game. It's been mix and match unfortunately.
