Maynard was furious that Glamorgan had to follow on |
Matthew Maynard blamed his failing batsmen following Glamorgan's third successive defeat, a five-wicket home loss to Warwickshire. "We've been inconsistent in all areas, but batting is the concern," said Glamorgan cricket manager Maynard. "We've had no centuries in the last three games and only two all season. "They are also what I'd call baby centuries. The players seem to lack the concentration, hunger and focus to go on and make big, game-changing scores." | 606: DEBATE |
Maynard says that his side should have made at least 350 in the first innings against the Bears in Cardiff, but remains convinced that they have the necessary talent in the squad. "We know we have a good batting line-up, we identified the best order at the start of the season," he said. "But maybe I need to sit down with the captain David Hemp and take time to reflect after the recent games."
