Somerset secure last eight place

Glamorgan

Somerset secured a place in the Friends Provident Trophy quarter-finals, despite their match at Glamorgan falling victim to the rain.

The point they gained was enough to seal their progress as Worcestershire, who needed a win, eventually had their game at Gloucestershire called off.

Umpires Allan Jones and Peter Hartley called off the match at the Swalec Stadium 90 minutes before the start.

Somerset now progress to the last eight with group winners Gloucestershire.
