Shantry started his career at Northamptonshire |
Glamorgan have signed left-arm seam bowler Adam Shantry from Warwickshire in a two-year deal. The 24-year-old is manager Matthew Maynard's second close-season signing following the arrival of Yorkshire batsman Matthew Wood.
He said: "Adam has had limited opportunities in the past few seasons, but is a bowler with great potential.
"His left-arm bowling will add further variety to our seam attack, and I'm delighted that he has agreed terms."
Shantry began his county career in 2003 with Northamptonshire, where he took 5-37 in a one-day match against New Zealand in 2004, before switching to Warwickshire the following year.
On his Warwickshire debut in 2006, he showed his potential with figures of 5-49 against the West Indies A touring team.
And this summer, in one of only two Championship outings, he took 4-31 against Sussex at Hove, during which his new ball bowling single-handedly reduced the county champions to 16-4.
