Croft says cricket in Wales is on a high |
Glamorgan captain Robert Croft has challenged his side to make the most of their talent in the coming season. "Consistency was our major problem all of last year," Croft told BBC Sport Wales.
"On our day we were good enough to beat the best, but we could also be bad enough to lose to the worst.
"We have a talented bunch of guys, but they need to perform consistently, be on their guard at all times and play to a high level."
Although he was keen to stress that performance was the key concern, Croft also had some definite targets for his team in the coming season.
"We want to go up to the first division in the championship, improve our performances in the Twenty20 competition and get a good cup run," he said.
The all-round ability of Croft, 33, will again be vital to his side's hopes.

But the skipper is glad to be able to call on the talents of the county's three international stars, England's Simon Jones and Australian pair Matthew Elliott and Michael Kasprowicz. "We know we'll lose Simon for a lot of the season, but we're fine with that," said Croft.
"We're very proud of what he's achieved in the West Indies, it gives the other boys in the team the confidence that they can also go on and play for England.
"Matthew has had a fantastic year in domestic cricket in Australia and is coming over here in good form.
"After losing Steve James it was important that we filled that gap at the top of the order.
"As for Mike, he had a great time in Sri Lanka and long may it continue - it was nice that Glamorgan could play a part in getting him back in the Australian Test team!
"It's not just about those three, though, all the boys have worked hard this winter.
"There's a real buzz about Glamorgan cricket at the moment. Everything feels positive, but we need a successful season to back it all up."
