 Matthew Elliott's batting has dominated the Pura Cup |
Glamorgan overseas signing Matt Elliott has been voted Pura Cup player of the year in his native Australia for an unprecedented third time. The left-hander, returning to Sophia Gardens this summer, won the award for his batting in the Pura Cup.
Elliott has helped guide Victoria to the brink of winning the competition, formerly called the Sheffield Shield.
Victoria need just a draw against Queensland and were 322-1 after the first day, with Elliott 140 not out.
