James Foster scored 143 runs in Essex's opening two CB40 wins |
Essex captain James Foster has praised the efforts of his side's bowling attack following Monday's seven-wicket win over Lancashirein the CB40. The visitors were all out for just 190 at Chelmsford, with South African Lonwabo Tsotsobe taking 4-43 and Ravi Bopara claiming 3-49. Foster told BBC Essex: "He [Tsotsobe] is finding his feet now. He's looking in good health. "He bowled exceptionally well and it proved difficult to go after him." Spinner Tim Phillips ended the match with economic figures of 2-32 from his eight overs. Foster added: "He [Phillips] just seems to put the brakes on. He's very consistent and is always bowling a tricky length. "Bear in mind the wicket's not even turning so to do what he's done is an exceptional performance. "A lot of credit goes to the bowlers, I thought as a whole unit they bowled well." Essex rattled off the victory total with 35 balls to spare thanks to 77 from Foster and an unbeaten 75 from Bopara. They have now won two out of two in the competition after beating Nottinghamshire by seven wickets on Sunday. They take a break from County Championship action this week and visit Glamorgan in the CB40 on Friday.
