Napier hit 16 sixes in his 152 against Sussex in last season's Twenty20

Essex all-rounder Graham Napier will play for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League this year.

The 29-year-old has been in negotiations for some time and the fee is undisclosed because he signed outside the IPL auction.

Napier came to prominence in the Twenty20 format last summer when he smashed 16 sixes in an innings of 152 against Sussex.

Essex teammate Ravi Bopara will also play in the IPL, for the Punjab XI.
