Chanderpaul has returned to Durham for a third stint
Durham wicketkeeper Phil Mustard believes the return of West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul is a boost for the county.
Chanderpaul finally joined up with Durham last week for the match at Warwickshire and starred again in Sunday's Pro40 defeat by Hampshire.
"Shiv's a different class when he comes out and he just looks so relaxed and plays fluent," he told BBC Newcastle.
"He's a good player to come out at five, and get a decent score."
Chanderpaul's 54 was the top Durham score, but Mustard himself came close to that, hitting a half century to end his knock on 50 from 60 balls courtesy of a run-out while partnering Ben Harmison.
And with a 92 in the defeat of Worcestershire earlier in the competition, Mustard admits the 40-over game has been a lucrative run-spinner for him thus far.
"I've not had a bad Pro40 campaign so far so I hope that can carry on," he said.
"I was disappointed to get run out today, but these things happen."
