Cook will be without Graham Onions and Steve Harmison in the Twenty20
Durham head coach Geoff Cook has called on his players to take their County Championship form into Tuesday's Twenty20 Cup game against Derbyshire.
The county has struggled in short-form matches but have impressed in four-day games and Cook hopes they can bring that momentum into Twenty20 cricket.
"The team has got some confidence from winning games," he told BBC Newcastle.
"The inclusion of Kyle Coetzer and David Warner will bring a new dimension and hopefully some victories."
Durham batsman Coetzer had been away with Scotland at the World Twenty20 competition, while Warner's debut was delayed by his involvement with Australia in the same tournament.
Meanwhile Cook will be without Steve Harmison and Graham Onions for the remainder of their Twenty20 games after the England and Wales Cricket Board requested that both were omitted from the county game to preserve their fitness.
The duo have been prolific in recent matches, with Onions becoming the first bowler to take 50 first-class wickets this summer and Harmison enjoying a seven-wicket haul in his last outing against Warwickshire last week.
And Cook admits their absence will be a headache in terms of selection.
"It leaves a hole that needs to be filled, he can't play any more games which is disappointing," he said.
"The Twenty20 is an important competition in the England cricket calendar, it would have been nice to have his services."
