Blackwell hit 59 from 33 balls in the win over Notts
Durham all-rounder Ian Blackwell believes their recent one-day form shows promise ahead of Tuesday's Twenty20 Cup visit of Derbyshire.
Blackwell, 30, hit 59 in Sunday's one-wicket win over Notts in the Twenty20 Cup and is confident of continuing that purple patch at the Riverside.
"We've spoken about one-day cricket being a habit," he told BBC Newcastle.
"When you win you've got to continue that, to get the win first game in this competition is positive for us."
The burly left-hander took full advantage of the short boundary at Trent Bridge's Fox Road stand to plunder five fours and four sixes from his 33-ball stand - with his best form coming alongside South African all-rounder Dale Benkenstein.
And Derbyshire-born Blackwell admitted his partnership with the former skipper is one that can flourish.
"It's my strength trying to hit across the line and I'd back myself even when the ball is on the stumps," he said.
"You've got to play positively, there's not much time to get yourself in and it's nice to be involved in a partnership.
"When me and Dale do bat we get quick runs so on that note it was nice to get a win and start us off in a positive way."
