Durham back in form - Benkenstein

Durham captain Dale Benkenstein believes they have begun to find their momentum after a patchy start in the County Championship.

"It was a lift for us going down to Hove and winning against Sussex," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.

"To win in three days just shows the quality we have in the side and we have to start again against Hampshire.

"We're feeling confident and things are starting to fall into place. It's a matter of sharpening the minds again."

Although prinicipally a batsman, Benkenstein has turned his hand to bowling in recent games and picked up an injury in the process.

"I tweaked a groin a bit," he explained. "I'm not a great fan of bowling but Geoff [Cook] thinks I underdo myself with my bowling.

"I just tweaked it a little bit and I'll have look at it with Nigel [Kent - the physio] and hopefully I'll be back ready for Friday."

Durham are preparing for changes to their overseas contingent, with one of South African Benkenstein's compatriots set to be replaced by two more fellow Proteas.

"Neil McKenzie plays this four-day game and then goes home, and then we're joined by Shaun Pollock and Albie Morkel for the Twenty20," said Benkenstein.

"The semi of the Friends Provident Trophy starts on the 4 July, and Albie will stay for that because Shivnarine Chanderpaul arrives on the 14 July."
