Birt signs fresh Derbyshire deal
Australian batsman Travis Birt has agreed to return to Derbyshire in 2007.

Birt, a late replacement for the injured Jacques Rudolph, is one of three players to pass 1,000 first-class runs for the county this year.

"Everybody here has been fantastic with me and I am looking forward to coming back next year," he said.

Batsman Steve Stubbings and pace duo Ian Hunter and Graham Wagg have signed new two-year contracts to keep them at Derbyshire until the end of 2008.

Batsman Hassan Adnan and bowler Tom Lungley have penned new one-year deals.
