Cosgrove passed 1000 season runs for the first time in his career

Glamorgan started strongly against Division Two title rivals Sussex after play finally got underway at Hove following a washed-out first day.

Opener Mark Cosgrove smashed 25 fours in an impressive 142, his fifth County Championship century of the summer.

Will Bragg also made 44 as Glamorgan declared on 300-9, James Anyon taking 3-52, backed by two wickets each for Yasir Arafat and Corey Collymore.

In reply, Sussex cruised to 30-0 in the five overs they faced before the close.
