Rain ruined the second day of Hampshire's County Championship match with Durham at Basingstoke.

No play was possible until 1310 BST, with further rain meaning that the home side had little time to build on their overnight score of 373-5.

In the 11 overs that were bowled, Hampshire added 48 runs to move to 421-5 on what is a docile wicket.

James Vince moved on to 27 not out, while nightwatchman James Tomlinson is unbeaten on 31.
