Devon sent Cheshire to defeat in a dramatic finish at Nantwich to keep their Minor Counties hopes alive. Left-arm spinner Chris Metters was Devon's match-winner, taking six-wickets for 79 runs to send Cheshire tumbling to a 54-run loss. Chasing 322 to win, the hosts went into the final hour 102 runs behind with five wickets in hand. But Metters' accuracy with the ball proved too much for Cheshire as they capitulated to 267 all out. James Kettle [77] and Lee Dixon [66] were the top scorers in Cheshire's second innings. Devon take 24 points for the win, with Cheshire picking up five.
