LV= COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION ONE, Trent Bridge: Nottinghamshire 456 beat Kent 200 & 224 by an innings and 32 runs (Notts 24 pts, Kent 4 pts) Match scorecard
Fletcher took the vital early wickets of Geraint Jones and Martin van Jaarsveld
Luke Fletcher, Andre Adams and Samit Patel all took three wickets as Nottinghamshire bowled Kent out for 224 to win by an innings and 32 runs.
Resuming on 51-2, Kent collapsed to 72-5 after Fletcher (3-43) removed Geraint Jones and Martin van Jaarsveld.
England one-day opener Joe Denly (37) offered some resistance before being trapped lbw by Adams (3-78).
And although Darren Stevens hit an unbeaten 42, Patel (3-24) wrapped it up before tea by bowling Amjad Khan.
Kent began the day needing 205 to make Notts bat again but that never looked likely after Fletcher struck twice in consecutive overs, first having Jones well caught at third slip by Adams before trapping Van Jaarsveld lbw to one that kept a fraction low.
Ryan Sidebottom then made it a triple breakthrough by removing nightwatchman Philip Edwards, having him caught pulling a short ball to Mark Wagh at mid-on.
Denly and Sam Northeast kept Notts out for an hour until wicketkeeper Chris Read stumped Northeast off Patel from the last ball before lunch.
Once Adams, who finished with seven wickets in the match, removed Denly the result was inevitable even though Azhar Mahmood, Matthew Coles and Khan swung the bat to hit some late boundaries.
Kent coach Paul Farbrace told BBC Radio Kent: "Not good enough from start to finish. We didn't bowl well enough on the first day. 250 or 300 would probably have been an acceptable score on the first day but 450 was far too many.
"Then to lose two early wickets - Denly and Key - straight away was the worst possible start to our batting.
"We've been outplayed in every department. We can have no complaints, no excuses, we didn't play well enough and we got what we deserved which was nothing."
