Fast bowler Simon Cook has now taken 33 wickets for Kent this season

Paceman Simon Cook's third five-wicket haul of the season has put Kent on the brink of the Division Two title.

After the first day was lost to rain, Cook (5-44) and Amjad Khan (4-46) helped bowl Leicestershire out for just 148, of which Boeta Dippenaar made 54.

With Northants dropping three points against Essex, Kent now need 45 more runs to secure the title, as they closed on 205-4.

Geraint Jones made 89, while Martin van Jaarsveld was unbeaten on 63.
