Openers Chris Rogers and Wayne Madsen put Derbyshire in control after Kent lost five wickets for just 49 runs on day two of their Division Two match. Rogers hit an unbeaten 116 while Madsen made 65 not out as the hosts ended the rain-affected day on 186-0. Earlier, Tom Lungley took the crucial wicket of centurion Geraint Jones in the first over of the day as Kent crumbled from 232-5 to 281 all out. Steffan Jones also picked up two more wickets to finish with 5-35.
