Rain and bad light decimated the first day's play between Leicestershire and Glamorgan at Grace Road, ensuring that only 17.3 overs of play were possible. Electing to field on winning the toss after a 90-minute delay, Glamorgan struck early when Garnet Kruger bowled Matt Boyce for a duck. Paul Nixon (23no) and Boeta Dippenaar (16no) then endured four separate rain breaks to take the hosts to 39-1. And, 45 minutes before the scheduled close, play was abandoned for the day.
