Two wickets from Monty Panesar helped Northants to victory at Lord's

England spinner Monty Panesar took two key wickets as Northants wrapped up a 35-run victory over Middlesex in dramatic fashion at Lord's.

Panesar trapped Eoin Morgan and Dawid Malan lbw as Middlesex, chasing 222 for victory, were all out for 186.

South African Johann van der Wath (85) helped the visitors from their overnight 225-7 to 293 all out.

Van der Wath (3-38) and David Lucas (4-38) then did the damage with the ball to force an unlikely victory.

Northants are now up to third in Division Two, nine points behind second-placed Derbyshire, while Middlesex remain rooted to the foot of the table and without a win in 2009.
