Derbys hit by Marshall and Gidman

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO, Chesterfield
6-9 June (Play starts 1100 BST)
CLOSE OF PLAY, DAY THREE: Gloucestershire 405-3dec, Derbyshire 19-0
(Derbyshire 1pts, Gloucestershire 5pts)

Hamish Marshall (left) and Alex Gidman
Marshall (left) and Gidman hit 35 fours between them

Hamish Marshall (158) and Alex Gidman (135) put on 233 for the third wicket as Gloucestershire took maximum batting points on day three against Derbyshire.

Marshall smashed 21 fours while Gidman pitched in with 14 more as the visitors declared on 403-5.

There was then time for Derbyshire to post 19-0 before stumps with captain Chris Rodgers unbeaten on 17.

However, after most of the first two days were lost to rain, a draw seems inevitable at Chesterfield
