Ireland picked up their first point in this season's Friends Provident Trophy without even taking to the pitch in rain-hit County Londonderry.

Play was called off for the day midway through the afternoon at Eglinton without a ball being bowled.

Hampshire move temporarily up to second in Group A after also picking up a point from the abandonment.

Ireland are next in action against Leicestershire on Thursday, while Hants play Nottinghamshire on Tuesday.
