An unbeaten 103 from former England one-day man Ed Joyce led Sussex to an eight-wicket Friends Provident Trophy win against Durham at the Riverside.

Joyce shared in an opening stand of 117 with Joe Gatting (48) as Sussex eased to their target of 193 in 43.2 overs.

Earlier Rory Hamilton-Brown (3-37), Luke Wright (2-24) and Will Beer (2-29) were among the wickets as Durham were bowled out for 192.

Only Will Smith (65) and Phil Mustard (27) provided any home resistance.
