No play was possible on the second day of the County Championship encounter between Derbyshire and Northants.

A torrential downpour just after the scheduled start left a large area of the outfield under water and another shower added to the problems.

The washout leaves Northants at 382-6 in their first innings.

Derbyshire keeper Jamie Piper broke a finger on the opening day of the match and the county have revealed they are looking to sign a replacement on loan.
