Andrew Flintoff recorded Twenty20-best figures of 4-12 from two overs before Lancashire's match at Chester-le-Street fell victim to the elements.

When the top-of-the-table battle was abandoned, Lancashire were 8-2 in reply to Durham's 77-7 from 10 overs.

He had Dale Benkenstein caught at extra cover with his first ball, bowled Albie Morkel and Shaun Pollock and then had Liam Plunkett caught off a full toss.

Lou Vincent at deep mid-wicket had the visiting fans on their feet with a spectacular catch off the last ball of the Durham innings to dismiss Plunkett.
