Andrew Flintoff pronounced himself satisfied with his form and fitness after Lancashire's match with Surrey at The Oval finished in a draw.

Persistent rain and bad light meant no play was possible on the final day.

Flintoff, who bowled 28 overs and took 1-62 on previous days, said: "I kept my pace up all the way through my spells."

The 30-year-old, who hopes to make the first Test with New Zealand on 15 May, added: "I'll keep working on my ankle, left leg and calf in particular."

Regarding the first Test of the summer at Lord's, he said: "I would love to be involved, there is obviously no change there, but I know I have to perform.

The IPL looked great fun but it is not something that is a major concern of mine at the moment

"It's nice to get 28 overs under my belt and bowl quite nicely but I have to score some runs as well, which I am working hard to do and fully aware of."

When he batted on Friday, Flintoff succumbed to spin, edging a Saqlain Mushtaq doosra to slip.

"It was my first knock outside in England for a while," Flintoff said.

"I started off alright, got a few out of the middle, was perhaps a little bit anxious and got a half-decent ball from Saqlain, which I went pretty hard at."

Flintoff and his team-mates spent much of Saturday watching Indian Premier League games on television.

But he said: "There are a lot more important things on my agenda at the moment: playing for Lancashire, performing for them, and getting back into the England side.

"The IPL has been on in the dressing room and it looked great fun, but it is not something that is a major concern of mine at the moment."

Surrey were always going to face a difficult task in their quest for victory, needing to enforce the follow-on and bowl Lancs out again.

The visitors needed to score a further 147 from 241-6 to save the follow-on.

Umpires Peter Hartley and George Sharp said play would begin after lunch but as Surrey took the field they judged the light was unfit and drizzle set in.
