Veteran Durham all-rounder Ottis Gibson has capped an outstanding year by winning two top awards. He took the inaugural Professional Cricketers Association Most Valuable Player award based on a rankings system and was voted Player of the Year.
Yorkshire leg-spinner Adil Rashid, 19, was named Young Player of the Year in a ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall.
An ECB special award was given to Peter Baxter, who retired as producer of BBC Test Match Special this summer.
Gibson, England bowling consultant for the one-day series in Sri Lanka, took 80 Championship wickets for Durham.
He was man of the match in the Friends Provident Trophy final and scored 723 runs across all competitions.
The 38-year-old beat Sussex's star spinner Mushtaq Ahmed - also one of the runners up in voting for player of the year - by 135 points in the inaugural county player rankings.
Surrey's Mark Ramprakash, who scored more than 2,000 Championship runs for the second season in succession, was the highest placed batsman in fourth.

Gibson said: "Sometimes you may search a lifetime for what you might consider is perfection. If I look back, this year has certainly been that way."
