Championship D1, Headingley (day two): Yorkshire 144 & 44-1 v Lancashire 517
Stuart Law hit the highest Championship score ever by a Lancashire batsman against Yorkshire to leave the hosts a mammoth task to save the Roses match.
Paul Horton, resuming on 82 with the visitors 146-2, laid anchor to rack up 149 before edging Tim Bresnan to slip.
However, Law took up the mantle and bludgeoned his way to a 250-ball 206 as Lancashire cruised to 517 all out.
That gave them a lead of 373, and Andrew Flintoff bowled Craig White late on to leave the hosts 44-1 by stumps.
It left Yorkshire, who had made only 144 in their first innings, facing a heavy defeat, Lancashire's 517 representing the highest ever score in a Roses match.
Law's 258-run partnership with Horton in the Division One match was also a record in matches between the sides, eclipsing the previous Championship record of 244 made by Cyril Washbrook and Jack Ikin in 1948.
Flintoff, who had managed only 24 with the bat before falling lbw to Younis Khan, made the crucial late breakthrough, forcing White to play on with Yorkshire still 329 runs behind.
