County Championship D2, Swansea: Middlesex 221 beat Glamorgan 60 & 159 by an innings and two runs
Points: Middlesex 18, Glamorgan 3Middlesex sealed victory by an innings inside two days over the Championship's bottom team Glamorgan in Swansea.
Alan Richardson took 4-21 and spinners Chris Peploe (3-58) and Jamie Dalrymple (2-44) chipped in as Glamorgan were two short of making Middlesex bat again.
Only Mike Powell, with a dogged 39 off 87 balls, top-scored on a tricky pitch which saw 21 wickets tumble on day one.
The game was over 45 minutes before tea and this defeat was Glamorgan's third in four Championship games this season.
It is the second time in two seasons a Swansea wicket has produced a result well inside two days and the county were penalised eight points after the game.
Nightwatchman Huw Waters and Dan Cherry kept Middlesex at bay for an hour and 25 minutes after the home side resumed their second innings on 13-1.
Waters was stumped down the leg-side off Peploe, Cherry gloved the slow left-armer to short-leg and Mark Wallace was trapped lbw by a Dalrymple ball which kept low to make it 55-4.
David Hemp struck Peploe for three fours in one over but it was 81-6 when the skipper padded up to Peploe and Ben Wright tamely gave Dalrymple a return catch.
Powell and Alex Wharf put on 29 in nine overs until Wharf was run out backing up too far before Richardson mopped up the rest.
