County Championship D2, Swansea: Glamorgan 60 & 13-1 v Middlesex 221 (day one, stumps)
Ed Joyce sent a reminder of his England credentials with a battling 58 to put Middlesex in control as a staggering 21 wickets fell on day one in Swansea.
The signs were not good for Glamorgan when they were reduced to 16-4 and they were eventually skittled for just 60.
Alan Richardson took 4-7 from 11 overs, while three bowlers took two wickets.
All of Middlesex's top six got a start but only Joyce went on as he helped them to 221 all out, and Glamorgan then slipped to 13-1 in reply before stumps.
The flurry of wickets means an ECB pitch panel of Jack Birkenshaw, Chris Broad and David Bridle will meet on Thursday morning to run the rule over a damp pitch.
The St Helen's pitch got wet because only plastic sheeting was available, forcing Glamorgan to invest in 5,000 covers, which will arrive next week for the rest of the Swansea Festival.
And Middlesex, who won the toss and put Glamorgan in, enjoyed the better of the conditions in their innings as the pitch dried out as the day went on.
