County Championship D1, Scarborough (stumps, day two): Yorkshire 536; Warwickshire 201Andrew Gale bettered his previous best first-class score by 120 runs as Yorkshire built up a huge advantage over Warwickshire at Scarborough.
Gale's 149 steered the hosts to 536 all out, a lead of 335 after day two of this Championship Division One match.
Gerard Brophy's 97 was another major factor as Warwickshire's bowlers struggled to find the seam movement available on the first day.
The visitors' most effective bowler was spinner Paul Harris, who took 5-134.
Gale survived a chance on 51 when he was put down by Mark Wagh at mid-off and Tim Ambrose missed a late stumping opportunity.
But for the rest of the time the left-hander was in total control with many of his runs coming from stinging drives through the off side.
A crowd of 4,000 watched a throw at the stumps by Jonathan Trott miss and killed a pigeon grazing on the square.
