County Championship D2, Cardiff, day four: Nottinghamshire 273-6 drew with Glamorgan
Points: Glamorgan 6, Nottinghamshire 6 Glamorgan returned to Championship Division One without taking the field on the final day of their home match against Nottinghamshire.
Rain prevented any addition to the 74 overs possible on the first three days but the draw was enough to send the Welsh county up.
Coach John Derrick said: "We are just delighted to get promotion now.
"We didn't want to go into the final game against Yorkshire needing another seven points or so."
He added: "Our main objective this season had been to gain promotion in the Championship and we have achieved that, but we have also had the bonus of winning the totesport League title."
Notts, who had been due to resume on 273-6, are on the brink of being confirmed as champions.
They go into their final game against Essex with a 22-point advantage over Hampshire and need one point to make certain of the Division Two title.
