Kent cause Tyke tumble
Empty seats at Headingley
Few spectators watched Yorkshire's demise
County Championship D1, Headingley, day two: Yorkshire 218 & 13-1 v Kent 399

Yorkshire's ignominious 2002 season continued in their final County Championship match as they were forced to follow-on by Kent at Headingley.

The 2001 champions, already relegated, were bowled out for 218 in just more than 60 overs, Martin Saggers taking four for 44 and Mark Ealham three for 55.

And, asked to bat again, they were soon in trouble again, Michael Lumb falling lbw to Amjad Khan in the second over.

In the eight overs available before bad light brought an early close, the Tykes reached 13 for one, still 168 short of asking the visitors to bat again.

Saggers took four wickets as Yorkshire tumbled
All was not completely rosy for Kent, though, as they were bowled out one run short of a fourth batting bonus point at 400, a point that could be crucial in their battle with Warwickshire for the runners-up spot.

Steve Kirby and Ryan Sidebottom took two wickets each, the latter finishing with four for 61.

Steve Waugh could only add 10 to his overnight 136 before he edged Kirby behind.

And James Tredwell, the other batsman not out overnight, was the fiery fast bowler's other victim, lbw for 61.

But only Craig White, with 61, and Richard Dawson, with 47, could reach those batting high points.

Saggers struck with just his third delivery, trapping Scott Richardson for nought.

And Yorkshire tumbled to 69 for five before White began the recovery.
