Wells hit 49 not out off 55 balls as Lecestershire collected a modest total of 208 for seven in their 50 overs. And he also took three for 32 in 10 overs of medium pace on a day when many of the county's established players failed to shine. Left-arm seamers Naheem Sajjad and Graham Wagg took three wickets each as Leicestershire's top four batsmen all got starts but failed to go on. And in the end Wells was indebted to the company of Phil DeFreitas - 30 off 24 balls - who helped him put on 71 for the seventh wicket. Devon Malcolm took three quick wickets for Leicestershire before the Board side's Huw Jones hit a classy 72, but he rather ran out of partners and in the end there was to be no shock on the cards.
