Marcus Trescothick spoke of his relief at getting out onto the middle on Sunday in Bangladesh. Trescothick hit 49 not out when play started five hours late on day one of the match against the President's XI.
And the Somerset opener reflected: "We've been here five or six days and to finally get outdoors is obviously pretty important for us.
"We've been indoors so much and it's pretty different conditions to what we are used to.
"You know what you are going to get with the heat and humidity here.
"It's going to really test us and it's something we have to get used to very quickly."
Trescothick revealed that much of England's training had been about acclimatising to the humidity.

But he said the wickets might prove tough for the bowlers to achieve instant success on.
"They are going to be very patient," he said. "You are not going to able to steam-roller a team for 150-odd like you can in England.
"Here you have to settle into a line and length both with spinners and seamers.
"When I came here last time the wickets were a little quicker than this."
Trescothick was dropped at slip off the slow bowling of Enamul Hoque junior and admitted: "It just sort of skidded through.
"We have to get used to the angle of the bat we have to use out here. It's going to test us for a few weeks."
