 Castletown set Cronkboune a huge total to chase at King William's College |
St John's stormed back to the top of the Standard Bank Premiership on Saturday after winning their top of the table clash with Ramsey. Batting first, the Saints made 265-9 with Daniel Dickinson falling just 10 short of his century. Akkie van den Berg then ripped through the Ramsey batting order with a superb spell of bowling to record figures of 6-28, with Ramsey all out for 76 runs. Meanwhile, there were also victories for Castletown and Valkyres. The Castletown batsmen had a field day against Cronkbourne, running up a huge total of 355-2. Travis Friend scored 125, John Short 88, Wicus Wessells 71 and Mark Williams 52, before Cronkbourne made a valiant effort to chase the runs, but were dismissed for 236. Elsewhere, Valkyres won their first Premiership match of the season when they defeated Crosby by 110 runs. The southerners scored 225, thanks to 54 from Shahzeb Raja and a half-century by Aurangzeb Ghausi. In reply the Marown team were dismissed for 115 with Tom Reader taking 3-20.
