Birmingham League champions Shrewsbury were held to a draw in their home derby with Shropshire neighbours Wellington. Shrewsbury rattled up a more than useful 247-8 via Tom Cox (66), Ed Foster (54) and Stephen Barnard (53). But despite spinner Rob Foster's 4-38, Wellington hung on at 168-9 - Bilal Shafayat top-scoring with 34. The result means Shrewsbury slip to fourth in the premier division table, 27 points off the pace, with Wellington 16 points behind them in seventh spot. In division one, Shifnal always found it hard at home to Old Hill, who eased their way to a six-wicket success. Chris Brabazon hit 74 in Shifnal's total of 170 - but apart from Anthony Parker (32), the rest of the batsmen were unable to handle Kyle Hodnett (4-37) and Nigel Davenport (3-44). The visitors then eased their way to 171-4. Last week's second division leaders Whitchurch slipped to third place after another Shropshire derby. They dismissed Bridgnorth for 190 (Jono Whitney 55) before Mark MacPherson-Lees picked up 4-32 to restrict Whitchurch to 160-8. Oswestry remain hot on the heels of Barnards Green in second spot in division three following a 60-run success over Studley. After slipping to 59-6, Oswestry recovered well thanks to Mark Robinson (70) and Nick Williams (53) putting on 113 for the seventh wicket to help Oswestry to 223 all out. Studley were then bowled out for 163 with Jonathan Miles taking 4-52. Handsworth raced to 270-5 against St. George's, who replied with 210-6 - aided by a second century of the season for Brendan O'Keeffe (107 not out).
