The ICC have named the umpires who will officiate in the World Cup quarter-finals - with elite panel member Asoka de Silva dropped from umpiring in any capacity. The Sri Lankan, one of 12 officials on the ICC's top list of umpires, had previously been moved off on-field duties during the group stage.

Umpires Billy Bowden and Steve Davis will take charge of Wednesday's first quarter-final between Pakistan and the West Indies; Aleem Dar and Rod Tucker will oversee South Africa v New Zealand on Friday and Billy Doctrove and Simon Taufel have been given Saturday's Sri Lanka v England match. South African Marais Erasmus and Ian Gould of England will umpire the World Cup quarter-final between India and Australia on Thursday. Erasmus will stand in his first match since missing Ricky Ponting's edge against Pakistan - the Aussie captain was eventually given out via the decision referral system.
