Berkshire cricket's interest in this season's MCCA Trophy ended with a seven-run defeat to Suffolk. Four Berkshire batsmen made half-centuries but they were unable to overhaul Suffolk's 300-8 for 50 overs. Danish international Freddie Klokker scored an unbeaten 102, as Suffolk recovered from 136-7. Despite an opening stand of 125 from David Barnes and Craig Crowe, Berkshire required 12 off the last over but they fell short on 293-9. Berkshire's Minor Counties Championship campaign begins against Dorset at Falkland Cricket Club on 6 June. Before that they host Middlesex on Tuesday, 25 May at Finchampstead Cricket Club in a Twenty20 match, starting at 1700 BST.
