Jahurul Islam hit a superb 158 as Bangladesh built up a slim lead on the second day of their tour match against Surrey at The Oval.

The tourists closed the day on 372-6, in response to the county side's 318-7 declared on day one.

Islam enjoyed a 194-run partnership with Mohammad Ashraful, who scored 89.

Surrey's Matt Dunn took three wickets late in the day as Bangladesh finished 54 runs ahead at stumps, ahead of Friday's final day.

Islam, who scored 43 to hold up England on his Test debut in March, hit 19 fours and two sixes in his innings, before being caught by Chris Schofield off the bowling of Simon King.

Ashraful was overlooked for the home Test series against England earlier this year but has been in good form since, hitting a brilliant 65 against Pakistan in the World Twenty20 10 days ago.

Bangladesh play a short series against England starting at the end of the month, with the first match at Lord's beginning 27 May, before the second and final Test at Old Trafford from 4 June.
