Weather forces Lincolnshire draw

Mark Fell
Fell felt the second day's play was called off prematurely

Lincolnshire drew their Minor Counties Championship match against Cumberland after losing two days play because of rain at Carlisle.

The visitors were 158-2 in their second innings after the home side declared on 88-9, when play stopped.

Director of cricket Mark Fell told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We were well in command. We can't do anything about the weather but I think we would have won.

"We batted OK, but we bowled magnificently," he added.

Lincolnshire's final Minor Counties match is away against Suffolk on 23 August.
