Roach's bowling proved a constant problem for the tourists |
West Indies' bowlers battled back to dismiss Bangladesh after tea on the second day of the second Test. The Windies batsmen struggled to make an impact on the first day in Grenada but the bowlers, led by Kemar Roach, ensured they had the better of day two. The fast bowler finished with 6-48 in only his second Test as Bangladesh were dismissed for 232. West Indies then reached 56-1 in their second innings - a 61-run lead - with Dale Richards dismissed lbw for 12. Omar Phillips and Travis Dowlin were the unbeaten batsmen at stumps, on 17 and 23 respectively. Bangladesh had resumed on 35-1 but the wickets tumbled at regular intervals for the West Indies side, who are without their big names because of strike action. Roach claimed Enamul Haque Jnr (13) and then Raquibul Hasan (44) and captain Shakib Al Hasan (16) after lunch. | 606: DEBATE |
Barbados-born Roach then induced an outside edge from Mushfiqur Rahim two runs short of his half-century which was safely pouched by wicktekeeper Chadwick Walton just after tea. Roach also had Shahadat Hossain caught by Richards at second slip and completed his haul by having Mahmudullah taken by Austin at fine leg. A draw will be good enough for the tourists to claim only their second series win in nine years as a Test-playing nation.
