Will Rudge released by Gloucestershire at the end of last season.

Former Gloucestershire fast bowler Will Rudge made an impressive debut for Herefordshire against Shropshire at Eastnor on Sunday.

Play did not get underway until 1530 BST on the opening day of the Minor Counties Championship game, due to heavy overnight rain.

But Rudge soon got among the visiting batsmen as they slumped to 17-4.

But Shropshire responded well with some solid batting to post 200-7 at the close with Rudge ending on 5-46.
