England are on track for their first series win against Australia since 1956 but almost forfeit the decisive final Test when captain Ray Illingworth leads his side off the pitch in protest at the Sydney crowd's reaction to John Snow's bowling.

England eventually return to win the Test by 62 runs and take the series 2-0.
