Ireland maintained their 100% record in World Cup qualifying by beating Namibia by seven wickets in South Africa on Wednesday. After slipping to 19-2 early on, the Namibians were then in trouble at 66-6 but 62 from Nicolaas Scholtz helped the Africans to post a total of 213-9. In reply, Ireland were 4-1 after losing Gary Wilson for a duck early on. William Porterfield scored 84, Niall O'Brien 64 not out and Eoin Morgan 42 as Ireland scored 214-3 off 45 overs. Morgan fell with the score at 88, before Porterfield and O'Brien put on a partnership of 101 for the third wicket. Kevin O'Brien ended the innings on 12 not out. Deon Kotze (33) and Ian van Zyl (31) hit late runs for Namibia to edge them towards their total. Boyd Rankin and Regan West both claimed two dismissals while the other wickets were shared out. Alex Cusack, John Mooney and Peter Connell also were among the wickets while Scholtz and LP van der Westhuizen were both run out. Ireland had already qualified for the Super Eight stage after winning their four opening qualifiers. The Irish are the only side with a 100% record in the qualifying games, having already beaten Scotland, Oman, Uganda and Canada. Wednesday's game was Ireland's final group match before the start of the Super Eights.
