Swardeston could win four trophies this summer |
Swardeston have retained their East Anglian Premier League title with two games to spare. They beat Clacton by seven wickets at home and Godmanchester's defeat by Horsford means they have an unassailable 62-point lead. Swardeston have also won the Norfolk Twenty20 competition and the Carter Cup this summer. They can clinch a quadruple if they beat Vauxhall Mallards in the Stan Biss Trophy final on Sunday. Swardeston can still complete an unbeaten season in the EAPL having won nine and drawn five of their 16 matches. | We know we can relax and have a bit of fun in the last two games Swardeston captain Mark Thomas |
There was no sign of any end-of-season jitters as they bowled Clacton all out for just 102. They needed just 18.2 overs to knock off the required runs and then heard that Godmanchester had been brushed aside by Horsford at home by nine wickets to hand them the title. Captain Mark Thomas told BBC Radio Norfolk: "We won pretty comfortably which is nice and puts the icing on the cake. "Now we know we can relax and have a bit of fun in the last two games."
