Kiwi Vincent joins rebel league
New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent
Vincent last played for New Zealand in December 2007
The New Zealand authorities have torn up top-order batsman Lou Vincent's contract after he signed with the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL).

Vincent, who recently announced he was battling depression, last played for New Zealand in December 2007.

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) chief executive Justin Vaughan said he had told Vincent he was "disappointed".

"We stand by these contracts regardless of performance or injury and we expect players to do the same," said Vaughan.

NZC have encouraged their selectors to overlook ICL-contracted players for their national teams.

Vincent joins fellow New Zealand caps Darryl Tuffey, Andre Adams, Shane Bond, Chris Harris, Craig McMillan, Hamish Marshall, Chris Cairns and Nathan Astle in the ICL.

However, Bond and Vincent are the only players to have featured for New Zealand in recent times.
