Australia will aim for a fourth successive World Cup win in 2011 |
Organisers of the 2011 World Cup have unveiled proposals for a common visa to enable easier travel for spectators across the four host countries. The boards from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will now put the plan to their respective governments.
"We promise a spectator and media friendly World Cup in four years time," said India's Sharad Pawar, chairman of the organising committee.
The co-hosts also intend to keep ticket prices at reasonable levels.
The 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean was criticised over the cost of attending matches for local suppiorters and the length the tournament took to complete.
There was further unrest when traditional musical instruments were initially banned from being taken into stadiums.
"Every effort will be made to make this spectator friendly with emphasis on keeping low priced tickets for local people," the India board explained.
The host nations are also due to discuss possible changes to the schedule after the 2007 competition spanned a mammoth 47 days.
